Travel to Philippines

Incredibly varied landscapes from mountainous regions in the north to numerous lakes and volcanoes in the southern peninsula – this is what attracts the tourists to Luzon, the largest of the main islands. Manila is the capital and the hub of the culture, located on the island’s east coast. The city was founded on the ruins of a Muslim settlement, so the history fans will find a lot of interesting things to explore. The pearl of this historic city is its oldest part – the Intramuros (Walled City), attracting the visitors by some remains of a massive wall. Manila has been a port for hundreds of years. The prominent sights of Manila are San Agustin Church and Manila Cathedral. After the excursions around the city head for the Chinatown – a market with shops, stalls and restaurants. Tagaytay, located not far from the capital, becomes a very popular destination in summer, when all kinds of festivities are celebrated there. If you want to soak in hot sulphur springs then choose Laguna, a short distance from Manila. The nearby bath cities are Cuyab, Los Baños and Pansol.

Cool haven from the summer heat – it is Baguio, north of Manila. Its major draws are first of all spectacular countryside, a good variety of restaurants, and of course interesting walking excursions with the stops at the Mansion, summer residence of the Philippine president, Bell Church and Baguio Cathedral. The beautiful rice terraces, listed by UNESCO as World Heritage sites, impress the tourists, coming to Banaue. If you are tired of trekking and looking for the ideal spot for swimming and fishing, then travel to the Hundred Islands group, famous for its white sand beaches and the second-largest marine reservation in the world. Visiting Mindoro island, you will be fascinated by such sights as Mount Halcon, Naujan Lake and Tamaraw Falls. Come across the Visayas – a group of islands between Luzon and Mindanao with the main islands of Cebu, Leyte, Negros, Panay and Samar. All of them have a great variety of things to do and places to visit.
